HMM was created by a severe need in the Hair Industry for stylists to get paid what they are worth.

The facts are that we have no guidance or group or any representation regarding making money. Yes, we receive a certificate upon leaving Cosmetology school that says we are qualified to work on a clients hair.

However, our reality is that we are not. If you are ready to make money upon graduating beauty school, then why are graduates barely making minimum wage? Does this happen to an electrician or a plumber once they are certified? The answer is a resounding NO.

Once a tradesperson is qualified, they immediately start making at least $75,000 a year. Within 5 years after graduation, they are making anywhere from $125,000 to $190,000 a year.

Why is this not happening in the hair industry?Answer... the current system that we work under is designed for us not to get paid what we are worth.

Our  approach  is completely  different:

 We understand that 95% of hairdressers have not learned how to make money, and it is not their fault. That's our starting point!

The alarming statistics:

 Where and how would we learn how to make real money in the Hair Industry? The answer is, it does not exist. We are learning from people who are in fact not making $100,000 a year, so how could they teach us how to make $100,000 a year or $200,000 a year?

They can't. It's impossible.

The average hair stylist makes between $28,000 and $33,000 a year.

70% of cosmetology school graduates are no longer in the industry five years after graduation because they are not making enough money to support themselves.

85% of hairstylists have no retirement program. ‍

40% of hairstylists have no medical insurance.

Start getting paid what you're worth:

These are the worst statistics of any skilled trade in the United States of America. Many experts in the industry say that the fastest way to shatter someone's confidence in themselves is to become a hair stylist.

HMM agrees with that statement, but only if you buy in to the current system of teaching and training. We don't buy in to the current system and that's the main reason why stylists that follow the HMM system make more money than people that follow the current very flawed method.
